I was very much looking forward to this little man’s newborn session. I met his mum and dad in their home for a maternity session earlier this year. The most gorgeous nursery was already waiting for him, unsure if it was a boy or girl Gemma decorated it very tasteful in gender neutral tones. Little Hugo arrived a few days after his due date. Once I heard the good news of his arrival we scheduled his newborn photo session in his Melbourne home. Baby sessions are my personal favourite because I get a few cuddles while I am there. Their light filled bright home was the perfect set up for his first photo session. My favourite shots are of mum and baby to demonstrate their bond. When his little hands were holding on to his mummies fingers I had to take a photo to hold on to this special moment. Hugo wasn’t very sleepy for us but in the end we managed to get some sleeping newborn photos as well as some awake ones. Doing a natural style newborn photo session it doesn’t matter too much if baby wants to sleep or not. I love to photograph a few stretches and yawns if I can. I had a blast capturing the early stages in his home. I hope to see him again in future when Hugo runs around and is up for lots of mischief.
